When my boys were little and I was at home with them, I had an uneasy relationship with the school vacation weeks. We would always start out the week full of optimism and fun – whee! we can stay up late and go on adventures! – but as the time wore on, it was so hard to find fun things to do with them. Especially in the cold weather, we would flounder around and often end up cross with each other, or watching too many bad children’s movies. It felt like the term cabin fever was invented just for us!
I had that in mind when I decided to hold a Family Game Day at TOS on the Friday of the school vacation week. We’ll have board games and snacks, and families are welcome to stop by for as little or as long as they choose. Join us on Friday, February 21 from 4 to 6 pm! We’ll be in Lissner Hall, where we held the Teacher Appreciation party in December. All TCEE families are welcome, along with friends and out-of-town visitors. If you’d like to bring a board game, please do! We’ll also have some of our own on hand.
Advance sign-up on Eventbrite is appreciated so I can make sure to have enough snacks, but walk-ins are welcome. Cost is $5 per family, payable at the door. If you’re available to help set up, please let me know or just come early.
